Brass is an alloy primarily made of copper and zinc, known for its excellent machinability, corrosion resistance and attractive gold-like appearance. It is widely used in plumbing, electrical, musical instruments and decorative applications.

Types of Brass Grades & Their Industrial Applicability:

C260 (Cartridge Brass – 70% Cu, 30% Zn)

High ductility and good cold workability.

C360 (Free-Cutting Brass)

Excellent machinability due to high lead content.

C464 (Naval Brass – with tin)

Good strength and corrosion resistance in marine environments.

C230 (Red Brass – 85% Cu, 15% Zn)

Strong corrosion resistance; reddish color.

C280 (Muntz Metal – 60% Cu, 40% Zn)

Strong and corrosion-resistant; cost-effective.
